Naeem Hussain was one of the tens of thousands of mourners that arrived at the Islamic Center of Mexico on Friday in the afternoon to attend the burials of 2 Muslims who’ve been ambushed and killed this week in Albuquerque. He too died a few hours later.
In the parking garage of the Lutheran Family Services, which offers social help to refugees who have arrived in the state of New Mexico, Naeem was assassinated on Friday night. Before moving to the US, he was an Afghan refugee whose resided in Peshawar and Islamabad with his family.Aftab Hussain, 41, was assassinated on July 26 in the city’s international sector, and Muhammad Afzal Hussein, 27, were killed on Monday a mere block from his apartment close to the University of New Mexico.
In November, 62-year-old Mohammad Ahmadi, who ran a halal market with his brother, became the first casualty of this senseless crime.
The Nm Police Department and the FBI informed them on Thursday, “telling us that authorities suspect all three deaths were connected,” according to Tahir Gauba, director of public affairs at the Islamic Center of Mexico (ICNM). This was before the body of Naeem Hussain was found.
Afzal was an architect, a University of New Mexico (UNM) graduate, and the head of a company whose family had immigrated from Rawalpindi.
