Gaza: The Palestinian resistance organization Hamas handed over the bodies of 4 Israeli hostages to the Red Cross under the ceasefire agreement, but American-made bombs were also placed on the stage on the occasion.
According to Arab media, the bombs placed on the stage during the ceremony were American-made GBU-39, which are capable of hitting the ground from the air. Hamas had written on these bombs, clarifying that these were the bombs that killed the Israeli hostages.
Hamas has repeatedly said that Israel targeted the hostages during its own bombing. Western media has also reported that Israel is using American-made GBU-39 bombs in Gaza.
The New York Times reported in May 2024 that the Israeli army had attacked a camp for displaced Palestinians in Gaza with American bombs, in which more than 40 people were martyred and 249 were injured.
CNN reported that a school in Khan Yunis was bombed with American bombs, killing 27 Palestinians and injuring 57.
During the handover of the bodies, Hamas also displayed banners that read, “War criminal Netanyahu and his Nazi army dropped bombs from Israeli fighter jets, killing the hostages.”
