In a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior, committee member Zartaj Gul submitted written questions to the committee chairman. She said that it should be told who gave the order to open fire on peaceful protesters on November 26, how many people were martyred, injured and how many were imprisoned, why journalists were being arrested and why only Pashtuns were being arrested in Islamabad.
The meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior was held on Monday at the Ministry of Interior building under the chairmanship of Member of National Assembly Raja Khurram Nawaz. Responding to Zartaj Gul’s questions in the meeting, committee member Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that it is a lie and propaganda that only Pashtuns are being targeted in Islamabad. Our own people are also being arrested who are not Pashtuns or not from KPK.
When the meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior began, the committee members were very angry over the absence of the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (DGFIA). Raja Khurram Nawaz said that the directors of the FIA blackmail people, no minister or secretary is going to ask the FIA people.
Committee member Chaudhry Naseer said that the FIA sub-inspectors hire servants, their rates start from 1.5 million, what is the role of the FIA except for embezzlement and blackmailing.
Hanif Abbasi said that we told the DG FIA that citizens are being blackmailed until they hear it, Nabil Gabol said that if this is the way it has to be done, then don’t call the FIA.
Chairman Committee Raja Khurram Nawaz said that if there is a personal case of FIA officers, even those with bail are taken away. The issue of what must be going on with the parents of the kidnapped child should be resolved and informed to the committee this week. Missing persons should be recovered in any case.
In the meeting, Additional DG FIA assured action according to the law. The committee unanimously approved the Coast Guard Amendment Bill, while the Criminal Law Amendment Bill was postponed until the next meeting.
