The Trump administration recently removed public health data from government websites, prompting a lawsuit filed by Doctors for America against US President Donald Trump.
The lawsuit was filed by the Public Citizen Litigation Group on behalf of Doctors for America (DFA), which names the Office of Personnel Management, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Department of Health and Human Services as defendants.
DFA is an advocacy organization that advocates for universal health coverage, affordability, quality, and equity.
DFA and PCLG said in a lawsuit filed in US District Court in Washington that the removal of health webpages and data has created a dangerous gap in the scientific data available to monitor and respond to the spread of the disease.
They said the move deprived doctors of resources that guide clinical practice and are key resources for communicating and engaging with patients.
