Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has said that the World Bank has reiterated its continued support in efforts to increase revenue in Pakistan.
According to the statement issued by the FBR, the country director of the World Bank met the Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langriyal and in the meeting, the coordination of the Pakistan Rice Revenue Project with the transformation plan of the FBR was discussed.
The statement said that Chairman FBR briefed the World Bank team about the government’s vision of FBR’s transformation plan and said that the transformation plan aims to increase revenue and facilitate tax compliance.
Chairman FBR said that steps are being taken to increase the capacity of FBR’s digitization and human resources, and extensive reforms are being made in the tax administration of FBR under the transformation plan.
The FBR said in a statement that the World Bank has reiterated its commitment to continue supporting Pakistan’s efforts to raise revenue.
