KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) stated on Thursday that it would hold a public hearing on the petition K-Electric submitted about fuel charge adjustments (FCA) for June 2022 on July 28.
The utility’s FCA petition for June 2022 requested an increase of Rs11.38/KWh. Fuel adjustments are subject to monthly revision in accordance with national tariffs and are only applicable to one particular month’s customer bills.
The increase in the cost of furnace oil and power purchased from the Central Power Purchasing Agency will have a significant influence on the monthly fuel cost adjustment in June 2022 (Market Operator).
From March 2022 to June 2022, the price of RLNG has grown by 50%. When compared to the price of Rs3,083 per MMBTU in March 2022, the price of RLNG in June 2022 is Rs4,627 per MMBTU.
