Senior journalist Arshad Sharif’s body has arrived in Islamabad after his death in Kenya. The jet bearing his body landed at the airport in Islamabad early on Wednesday.Sharif was shot and killed by Kenyan police on the evening of Sunday, October 23, just outside of Nairobi, in what the nation’s officials termed as a “mistaken identity” shooting.At the airport in Islamabad, there were family members of Arshad Sharif. His body was then given to his family by the police.
The Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital’s mortuary is where the body has been housed. The friends and family of Arshad Sharif were still in the mortuary. The funeral prayer will be offered in the Shah Faisal Mosque on Thursday at 2:00 PM. He will be laid in the H-11 cemetery in the capital.
After spending so long waiting outside the sealed gates, the journalist’s family raised their displeasure of the government, claiming that the press group is a witness to the injustice.

Tuesday in Peshawar, PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan asserted that journalist Arshad Sharif’s murder was the result of a targeted assassination.
Whatever anyone says, I am certain that Arshad Sharif was a victim of a target killing, Khan declared.”I had heard that Sharif would be slain in order to silence the truth,” said the source.

Tuesday, the Pakistan Army requested that a high-level investigation into the untimely death of the journalist be carried out by the government.
Major General Babar Iftikhar, the director general (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated, “We have requested the government to hold a high-level investigation so that all these rumours can be put to rest.
