LAHORE: Students in Multan chanted ‘Go Nawaz Go’ at former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president Javed Hashmi when he was on his way to attend a funeral on Friday.
The students blocked his car and did not let it pass, till Hashmi pledged to them that he will not join the PML-N again, Express News reported.
Previously, a student was shot and injured after a fight broke out between two groups of students for chanting ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in Peshawar’s Islamia College University on Wednesday.
Students supporting PML-N clashed with PTI supporters as they chanted anti-Nawaz slogans.
The controversial ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan seems to be getting under the skin of not only PML-N workers but also its leadership.
After the Wazirabad incident earlier that day, PML-N leader and the prime minister’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued a veiled threat to PTI supporters and warned them not to mess with the Lions. Maryam Tweeted on Wednesday evening that PML-N workers have had enough of PTI’s vandalism and PTI supporters would not find a place to hide if PML-N resort responding. INP
