imranISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced that he would go to the Supreme Court against inflated electricity bills of Rs70 billion.
Addressing his supporters at D-Chowk for the 50th consecutive Day on Friday, Khan demanded the govt return Rs70 billion to power consumers. He also called for Rs.15 cut in prices of petroleum products. He said that Sharif and Zardari families don’t pay their taxes as they shifted their wealth abroad. The government refused to increase power tariff due to the sit-ins, said Khan.
In addition, he demanded audit of the last year’s general elections, saying the government came into power through rigging. “A power plant is being built at the cost of Rs140 billion in Bahawalpur without tender,” he said. The PTI chief said that thousands of Pakistanis donated funds for the Islamabad’s sit-ins. Agencies
