The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif on November 1st visits China, his first state visit to the country since assuming office.The Chinese counterparts recall him as “Shehbaz Speed” due to his speed of getting things done before expected time.
The visit is taking place just after the conclusion of the all-important 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It also comes in the wake of President Biden’s statement on the nuclear assets of Pakistan.The first visit after assuming charge comes at a time when regional and global dynamics are shifting rapidly. Both countries will seek ways to enhance bilateral relations, according to the needs of the contemporary situation. President Xi Jinping is a true friend of Pakistan and the relationship will be further strengthened by this act. President Xi coined the term “iron brother”. The agenda of the visit is wide-ranging from security, technology, RMB account to rescheduling of loans. CPEC shall remain the focal point of discussion. Thus, it is advised that the PM task his team to devise a comprehensive framework to accelerate work on CPEC and discuss this further with the Chinese leadership. The framework must revolve around the needs of the second phase of CPEC including addressing of concerns about security and ensuring a conducive business environment for CPEC-related projects. Although the agenda of the visit is wide-ranging (security, technology, RMB account, rescheduling of loans), CPEC shall remain the focal point of discussion. Thus, it is advised that the PM task his team to devise a comprehensive framework to accelerate work on CPEC and discuss this further with the Chinese leadership.
Spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that we want to appreciate the important progress of CPEC. CPEC is a milestone in Pakistan-China cooperation that has promoted economic development and employment in Pakistan while having a positive socio-political effect.
The spokesperson further said that the 11th joint cooperation meeting of CPEC was successful recently, consensus has been reached on several understandings regarding the future of CPEC. In a statement the Chinese Foreign office has stated that no matter the internal or external socio-economic conditions of any country, Pakistan and China will always maintain a brotherly relationship like they have always maintained in the past.
It is stated by the PM that chinese companies are welcome here to make investments and achieve growth for their companies as well as provide employment opportunity and business and economic development here in Pakistan.
China and Pakistan together can take benefit from the use of corporate farming through hybrid seeds and utilize techonological advancements in the agricultural sector.
Shehbaz Sharif has further stated that facility of cold storage to be utilized along with achieving higher production rate by farming through newly discovered techniques. He assured that it will be made sure that this positive relation between the two brotherly countries will be defended and provided adequate security as to keep it safe from any prying eyes.This visit has been warmly welcomed by the Chinese Authorities and media. Chinese counterparts have stated that both the countries have always stood with each other in harsh times and in the future will follow the same pattern.
The 11th meeting of mutual cooperation has been successful. The efforts of Pakistan in making CPEC from a dream to reality has been praised too. Many future proceedings regarding CPEC have been mutually agreed upon by both parties.
Related to India the PM has stated that he wants all issues between neighbours to be solved through dialogue including the Kashmir issue and that good relations between neighbours will result in prosperity of the region as a whole which will be beneficial for all.
