ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Day Parade has been cancelled, the Aiwan-e-Sadar reported on Friday. Earlier this week, the event had been moved to March 25.
The parade, which generally takes place on March 23, was scheduled to take place in the President House parking lot but was pushed up due to inclement weather, according to a statement from the office.
The event was called off without any explanation.
On March 23, 1940, the All-India Muslim League passed the Lahore Resolution, calling for the creation of a distinct nation for the Muslims of the British Indian empire. This event is remembered as Pakistan Day.
Around the world, celebrations of the day took place, notably in China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, meanwhile, claimed that “political chaos” was the primary cause of the nation’s economic instability on the 83rd anniversary of Pakistan Day.
In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the populace to remember the nation’s founding fathers’ sacrifices while keeping in mind the problems that still confront the nation.
The two major problems are the inability to settle on game rules and the situation of the economy. We have been unable to build a viable economy because of the political atmosphere, according to the PM.
