Islamabad: Imran Khan, the head of the PTI, warned on Friday that anyone may go through what his chief of staff Shahbaz Gill did when he was being held. “Torture both and physically, involving sex abuse too awful to tell,” he claimed Gill had endured.
In a brief interview with reporters outside Islamabad’s Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the ex-premier remarked, “If a political employee [like Shahbaz Gill] can be exposed to such torture, it might happen to anyone” (Pims).
The former premier apparently went there to check on Gill when he was being held, but it was able to do so because the police stopped him.In connection with a FIR filed against him because of allegedly instigating mutiny among the military personnel, Gill was detained on August 9.
Television footage from earlier today showed him being wheeled into court this morning while audibly wheezing and pleading with staff members for access to his mask.
The capital police were ordered to move Gill back to the Pims for another medical test by the Islamabad District and Sessions Court.
Following Babar Awan’s earlier today announcement of the former premier’s visit to Pims, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police issued a statement on Twitter stating that as the suspect [Gill] was not physically detained, no one was permitted to meet him.
