Following his arrest as part of significant development in the investigation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday brought the alleged mastermind of the Karachi University suicide bombing blast before an anti-terrorism court (ATC).
On Monday, the CTD, with technological support from other law enforcement agencies (LEAs), detained the suspect.
The suspect is a commander of the separatist Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Federation-Karachi (BLF), and he was the planner of the attack on Chinese teachers outside KU’s Confucius Institute in April of this year, the CTD police said during the court hearing today. Additionally, they said that he was responsible for organizing assaults against other Chinese nationals in Karachi.
The suspect was afterward kept in custody by CTD police till July 16.
