RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has denounced the unjustified remarks made by a senior Indian army general about Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement in which they said that it was a fitting illustration of the deluded mindset of the Indian Armed Forces and demonstrated the distinct influence of domestic political showboating on Indian military thought.
The Indian Army’s repressive use of force and grave human rights violations against innocent, unarmed Kashmiris fighting for their right to self-determination, which is protected by international law and enshrined in UN Security Council Resolutions, are being concealed by false statements and unfounded accusations of “launch-pads” and “terrorists.” The grandiose assertions and absurd ambition of the Indian General Officer are offensive on an intellectual level.
“The Pakistani military is a positive factor that promotes regional stability and peace. However, our yearning for peace is balanced with our ability and readiness to repel any misadventure or attack against our land, a claim that has been amply confirmed on multiple instances, most recently in the Balakot incident, according to the ISPR statement.
Indian army would do well to refrain from reckless hyperbole and vituperative communication to support the regressive ideology of their political masters in the interest of regional peace.
