PESHAWAR, Jan1 (INP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have launched One-Click SOS service through Android mobile which will enable the people to alert the police in case of any emergency situations.

A ceremony was organised at the Peshawar Police Lines yesterday where the officials of sensitive agencies, staff of educational institutions and other participants were told that the SOS service operated through Android mobile will enable them to inform at least 10 police stations about any emergency situation with a single click.

Police will reach the site of any untoward occurrence within five minutes of receiving the alert through the SMS or telephone.

The service is being launched in the aftermath of the attack on Army Public School Peshawar on December 16.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Additional Inspector General Police (IGP) Mian Asif said this service will be introduced in Peshawar in the first phase and will be extended to the rest of the province gradually.

“We are introducing this system which is very easy to operate. The service will enable the school administrations to alert the police about any occurrence with just once click. Police will also be able to ascertain the place of the occurrence within no time and all the concerned departments will come into action after receiving security alert,” he said.
