Altaf greets MQM relief workers on New Year

KARACHI, Jan 01 (DNA): Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain greeted volunteers of his party helping Timber Market fire victims on New Year.

On New Year’s Eve, Altaf Hussain contacted MQM and KKF volunteers busy in relief activities for the victims of Timber Market fire incident and congratulated them on the arrival of New Year.

The MQM chief inquired about the relief work in front of a large number of affectees and was told that after the MQM appeal, more than 90 % of affectees submitted their documents and damage disclosure statements at MQM relief camp.

The workers present at the site also wished the party founder and chief a Happy New Year.

The MQM chief prayed for the victims and affectees of the incident.

It must be remembered that three multi-storey buildings housing storehouses, shops and residential apartments were completely destroyed and as many buildings severely damaged in the fire which erupted in Karachi’s Timber Market on December 28. DNA
