The Central Executive Committee of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) met under the chairmanship of party president Abdul Aleem Khan to review political developments, party affairs and future plans.

Speaking at the meeting, Khan praised the Pakistan Army and its leadership, saying their professionalism and sacrifices had brought the country global recognition and historic success in a short conflict. He said the Bunyanun Marsus operation had transformed Pakistan’s image, adding that party leaders should visit the families of martyrs to express solidarity and assist flood-affected communities.

Khan described the presence of eight IPP members in the assemblies as significant and called for unity to strengthen the party. He also noted that political conditions are always changing and urged leaders to remain proactive.

The meeting expressed satisfaction over intra-party elections and the Election Commission’s endorsement, and discussed the early appointment of central and provincial office bearers. Participants also voiced certain reservations about the Punjab government.

It was decided that the party will contest by-elections in Lahore and other areas after consultation, with the next major convention to be held in Faisalabad. Members suggested the government introduce farmer-friendly policies, while it was resolved that the IPP will actively participate in upcoming elections in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Senior leaders, including Rana Nazir Ahmed, Mian Khalid Mahmood, Syed Samsam Bukhari, Norez Shakoor, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin and Nauman Langrial attended the meeting. Minister of State Aun Chaudhry, MNAs Munazza Hassan and Gul Asghar Baghour, MPAs Sarah Ahmed and Syeda Sameera Ahmed, former MPA Haroon Gul, Col Hashim Dogar, Malik Zaman Naseeb, Chaudhry Abdul Rauf, Farukh Maneka, Tahseen Gardezi and Yasir Arafat were also present.
