Good news for electricity consumers, the burden of fuel adjustment has been averted in June

The Power Division spokesperson has given important good news for electricity consumers, saying that due to timely and effective measures, there will be no increase in electricity prices in June.

The statement said that electricity consumers have been saved from the burden of monthly fuel adjustment of Rs 5 to 6 per unit. Despite the shutdown of LNG and the use of expensive furnace oil, there will be no additional burden on electricity consumers.

According to the Power Division statement, consumers have been saved from a potential additional burden of Rs 38 billion, which was due to the monthly fuel adjustment being stopped at an increase of Rs 1.73 per unit.

According to the spokesperson, relief has been given to consumers due to the continuation of policies, increase in electricity demand and special package. Load management has also been reduced through additional supply of local gas and generation from imported coal plants.

The Power Division spokesperson said that a refund of Rs 65 billion has been made possible to electricity consumers in the first quarter. Thanks to the first quarterly adjustment, consumers were given relief of Rs 1.93 per unit. According to the spokesperson, the quarterly adjustment has not only completely eliminated the effects of the monthly fuel adjustment but has also provided further relief despite the extremely difficult conditions.
