Balochistan has continued to be battered by extreme flooding and unprecedented rainfall. Eight additional people have died in the province over the past 24 hours, increasing the total death toll to 278.
According to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, at least eight fatalities were reported in incidents due to flooding and rain over the course of the previous 24 hours.
Six males and two women are among the deceased. The Jhal Magsi district reported the deaths.The PDMA data indicates that as of June 1 there had been 278 fatalities in Balochistan.
Among the dead are 83 children, 63 women, and 132 males.In the province, numerous rain-related incidents resulted in at least 172 injuries. Balochistan suffered damage to 64,385 homes overall as a result of heavy flooding and rain. Over 270,444 livestock have also perished as a result of flooding.
The PDMA report states that crops on 200,000 acres of land have already been harmed. In the province, 22 bridges have been destroyed by the flash floods. 2,200 kilometres of roads have also been negatively impacted.
