According to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif has conveyed his disagreement to the federal government’s proposal to raise the pricing of petroleum items.
The government raised the price of petrol by Rs6.72 per litre for the next two weeks on Monday. “In light of swings in international fuel prices and exchange rate variations,” the Finance Division said in a statement.
The public was outraged by the government’s choice. Citizens feel that while petroleum prices are reducing around the world, they are rising in Pakistan. As many expressed their dissatisfaction with the government’s decision, one Twitter user tagged Maryam Nawaz and asked her to “talk to Mian Nawaz Sharif to take notice of the increase in the price of petrol.”
