Daren Sammy is one of the foreign players that maintained their confidence in Pakistan and participated in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which has been instrumental in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan.
The West Indies’ two-time T20 World Cup champion has been a member of Peshawar Zalmi since the team’s inception, and in 2017, when Pakistan hosted the PSL final for the first time, he led his team to their first victory.
Due to personal obligations, the 38-year-old was unable to play for Peshawar Zalmi during the previous season; however, Zalmi has given him a key role for the forthcoming season, which is scheduled to take place in February or March of 2019.
Daren Sammy has been named the eight-season Pakistan Super League head coach by the 2017 PSL champions. Javed Afridi tweeted, “Happy to announce Daren Sammy as the head coach of Peshawar Zalmi.
“In response, the West Indies all-rounder remarked on Tuesday, “Peshawar Zalmi is my family and I am really thrilled for PSL season eight.” He also extended his thanks to the team.
He added that winning the PSL 2 championship with Peshawar Zalmi was one of his most memorable moments as captain, and he expressed confidence in the team’s ability to succeed in PSL season eight as well.
