KARACHI: A local court in Karachi Thursday granted interim bail to Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, the disowned leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), till May 30 in a case of rioting.
Mirza, a former Sindh home minister, appeared before Sessions Judge South amid tight security and sought bail in a case registered against him in Aram Bagh police station.
The judge accepted his request and granted Mirza bail till May 30 for security bonds of Rs.100,000.
He was booked in the case on charges of rioting, assaulting police and hindering them from performing duties after forcibly climbing atop an armoured personnel carrier outside an Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi.
