Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that under Universal Health Coverage, citizens of Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir can get free treatment in private hospitals.
According to details, he expressed these views at the inauguration ceremony of the second digitalized health center in Karachi’s Jacob Line Saddar. The Health Minister said that this is a happy occasion for us and we are thanking Allah that we got the opportunity to do this work once again.
Stressing the importance of serving humanity, the Federal Health Minister cited a hadith that during the time of the Children of Israel, a woman saw that a dog was thirsty, she took off her sock and quenched the dog’s thirst, for which Allah rewarded her greatly. He said that Allah loves creation and providing relief to a suffering person brings great reward.
The Federal Health Minister said that this is not an ordinary government work but the Federal Ministry of Health is working to reduce the suffering of Allah’s creation. He said that our healthcare system is close to collapse and after the Corona epidemic, it was proven that if so many people are sick at the same time, then even powerful countries are affected, including the US, UK and China.
He said that even without a pandemic, many people are getting sick in Pakistan. Every year, 6.1 million children are born in Pakistan, out of which four lakh children have not received a single dose of immunization and millions of children have been given only a single dose.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said that healthcare is not just about treating patients, but also about protecting citizens from diseases and this work is not only the responsibility of the Health Minister, but also the responsibility of everyone from the UC counselor.
