The important session of the Punjab Assembly began on Friday after a delay of more than two hours.
215 members of the assembly of Muslim League-N and its allies arrived, on which the members of the Sunni Ittehad Council shouted slogans and protested. The parties shouted slogans against each other. The opposition had 97 members.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Sabatin Khan will administer oath to the newly elected members.
Earlier, the meeting to elect the Chief Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker was postponed. Officials gave no reason for the delay in the all-important meeting, saying it was normal.
