Six terrorists including two TTP arrested in Quetta, Sukkur

QUETTA/SUKKUR (INP): The frontier corps on Friday arrested four suspected militants after injuring them in encounter during search operation near Coastal Highway in Pasni area.

According to FC spokesman, on a tip off about presence of terrorists in the area, the FC personnel started search operation during which the suspected terrorists opened fire at the FC personnel.

The FC personnel arrested four suspected terrorists who were injured during exchange of fire.

Meanwhile, in a raid carried out by Rangers personnel in Sukkur’s Mirpur Mathelo area, two suspected members of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were arrested and several firearms and explosives were recovered.

The suspected TTP militants were traveling on a passenger coach from Peshawar to Karachi, intending to leave for Dubai when Rangers personnel searched the coach and arrested the militants.

Several searches and raids were carried out in the surrounding areas during which a large number of firearms were recovered. These included rocket launchers, hand grenades, pistols, bullets and Kalashnikov.
