KARACHI: Shadab Khan, vice-captain of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket team, thinks that the England series will give Pakistan a great opportunity to get ready for the ICC T20 World Cup. The ICC Men Twenty20 World Cup will be held in Australia later that month.
In order to be a bowling option for the squad at any point in the game, Shadab stated that he is practicing to get ready for bowling in powerplay and death overs.
Shadab said that if his team requires him to bat higher in the order, he is prepared to do so. In addition to having a series with considerable historical significance, it offers us a great chance to be ready for the World Cup.
One of the best limited-overs cricket teams in contemporary cricket is England. So, it will contribute to our world cup preparation and enable us to put together a good team before the mega-event,” he stated.
When asked what the squad needs to work on, Shadab replied that there is always room for development. He did emphasize that the team needed to improve their batting, though, as he expects the World T20 event to include high-scoring games in Australia.
Shadab claimed that he is ready to fill in for the squad whenever and wherever it is needed. Shadab went on: “My relationship with Nawaz in the team is really important to me. We may be sent to any position, so we must be prepared for that as well. I hope that we will never have to deal with a situation where I have to bat sooner in the order.”
Shadab asserted that he will work on refining his bowling variations throughout the next series rather than pursuing any specific England player.
