Senator Irfan Siddiqui lauds PM’s vision for strengthening national heritage institutions

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui on Wednesday termed the Prime Minister’s commitment for preserving and strengthening the national institutions dedicated to literature, history, and culture as a positive and welcome step for the whole nation.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is determined to take serious and effective steps for the improvement of the performance and expand the scope of these institutions. Senator Siddiqui disclosed that a committee will be formed soon for this purpose,” Senator Siddiqui said during a meeting at his chamber with Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, and the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, Huzaifa Rehman called on him today.

The Minister and Special Assistant to the PM thanked Senator Siddiqui for raising his voice for the protection of academic and literary institutions and conveying the concerns of the intelligentsia to the Prime Minister.
They acknowledged the need for reforms and said that the Prime Minister’s personal interest in the matter is expected to bear positive results.

They expressed hope for Senator Siddiqui’s continued guidance and support.

Siddiqui assured the Minister and the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant that he would remain fully available to support all efforts aimed at promoting knowledge and literature, and fostering harmony in society.

The Senator underlined the need for launching new initiatives in line with contemporary demands to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of national institutions. He pointed out that the appointments of heads of all institutions be expedited to improve their performance.
Federal Secretary of the National History and Literary Heritage Division, Asad Rehman Gilani, was also present at the meeting.
