ISLAMABAD:  Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the Rs. 350 billion cut in the development budget of the government was bound to affect the work on numerous projects which required prompt completion.

Talking to media men after the Senate session, he said that the review budget also reflected the inexperience of the government.  He said the steps taken by the government so far were without any home work.

The government had involved itself in small issues while major issues had been kept aside. He said it was essential to pull the country out of state of uncertainty but no step was being taken in that direction.

He said that the raise in POL would affect the common man and lead to a flood of price hike while the raise in fertilizer prices would affect the farmers.

The JI chief said that small dams should also be built side by side mega dams and these could be completed with less money and within a short time.

He said the economic policy of the government indicated that it was again going to the IMF which would negate all its claims of sovereignty and avoiding big loans. He said the JI earnestly wanted the PTI government to implement its election manifesto. NNI
