The Lahore-based Nanbai Association has announced a price rise of up to Rs 3 for naan and roti.The association’s president, Aftab Gul, claimed that the cost of wheat was rising daily on the market.
According to him, the cost of a 15 kg bag of wheat has gone up to Rs1,775 from Rs1,400. Similar to that, he claimed, the cost of a fine flour bag has increased from Rs8,500 to Rs9,500.
Gas, according to Mr. Gul, was also unavailable, and wood and LPG were pricey. He claimed that the group has scheduled a meeting for December 15 to declare an increase in the cost of both goods. The current price of a roti is Rs. 14, and a naan is Rs. 22.
