NOWSHERA: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of a low-cost housing scheme in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A total of 1320 apartments will be constructed in eighteen months under this project. The apartments will be distributed through balloting among people having income up to forty thousand rupees per month.
On the occasion, he also planted a sapling under the Clean and Green Pakistan program. Federal Communication Minister Murad Saeed and SAPM on Health Dr Faisal Sultan accompanied the prime minister.
Later, addressing the ceremony, PM Imran Khan congratulated his team for the groundbreaking of the housing scheme and added that first time in the country’s history, efforts are being made to uplift the low-income segment of the society.
Taking on the political opponents, the premier said alliances like Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) are made to blackmail the government. PM Imran vowed for an equal justice system in the country for the rich and poor. He said that the federal government is giving a subsidy of Rs300,000 on each house built under the scheme,
According to Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information, Kamran Bangash, during the Peshawar visit, the premier will inaugurate new OPD block in Khyber Teaching Hospital. He will also inaugurate a paraplegic centre in the Hayatabad area of Peshawar, said Bangash.
He further said that PM will lay the foundation stone of the Peshawar-Darra Adam Khel road project. The prime minister will also hold separate meetings with Governor KP Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
