HAVELIAN, Nov. 29 (DNA): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Saturday announced to decrease POL prices by 9.66 rupees per liter.
Addressing a big public meeting on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of Hazara Motorway in Havelian, he said that the petrol would be made available to the people for 84.53 rupees per liter from December 1st while the prices of diesel would be decreased by 7.92 rupees.
He further said that a notification to this effect would be released on Sunday.
The Prime Minister said that the government would wipe out terrorism in the country.
He also accused the sit-inners to teach the lesson of indecency to the young generation which is in no way fair. He said that nobody would tolerate the derogatory language being used during sit-ins. he advised the sit-inners to demonstrate nobility during their addresses to the participants of sit-ins.
He said that he has fulfilled the promise which he had made with the people of Hazara Division during election campaign in connection with construction of Motorway.
He said that the federal government is constructing a new KPK where the sit-inners are reigning the province. He also announced to establish a university in Hazara division.
He also announced to construct a railway track to link Hazara with Karachi and Quetta while another track will be constructed to link Hazara with Muzaffarabad.
He also announced to construct an express way from Rai Kot to Thah kot. Nawaz Sharif said that completion of Motorway project would change the fate of the people of Hazara and bring prosperity to the area.
Nawaz Sharif announced to bring prosperity and eradicate poverty in KPK. He said that the government has inked agreements with China worth 40 billion dollars in energy sector which would end the power shortage in the country.
He said that sit-ins would prove useless because sit-ins would yield no results instead they will push the country backward. He asked the sit-inners to do politics in civilized manner and give up the habit of using derogatory remarks against political stake holders.
Earlier he performed groundbreaking ceremony of Hazara Motorway project in Havelian.
This important road link would be part of Pakistan China Economic Corridor agreement. The 60-km long 4-lane fenced expressway will cost Rs. 33 billion. Hazara Motorway will reduce the drive time from Islamabad to Havelian to just 30 minutes in addition to providing road to the Havelian Dry Port project.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan said Hazara Motorway would change destiny of the people of Hazara, Gilgit-Baltistan, Malakand and Azad Kashmir.
He said the country is facing numerous challenges and people of Pakistan stood solidly behind the Prime Minister in tackling them squarely.
He particularly referred to the on-going operation Zarb-e-Azb in FATA and said it would help eliminate terrorism that posed threats for the last one decade.
He demanded construction of schools in quake affected areas of KPK and Azad Kashmir on priority basis besides establishment of a quality University in Hazara.
Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said the PML-N led Government is fulfilling its promises made in the elections by launching the development projects. He said parties staging sit-ins are adopting different tactics to create hurdles in the way of development.
He hoped that the second phase of this motorway projects will be launched soon up to Mansehra. He also hoped that the Prime Minister will soon inaugurate rail project in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi said the Prime Minister has fulfilled his promise made in the elections by launching this project. He said motorway was the longstanding demand of the people of the area. He said motorway project will promote economic activities in the area. He said the previous Federal and provincial governments ignored the area.
He demanded establishment of a University in Havelian and provision of gas to the area.
President PML (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pir Sabir Shah said by giving the gift of motorway, the Prime Minister demonstrated his love with the people of the area. He said change will come through the development projects.
It may be noted that Hazara Motorway is part of Pakistan China Economic Corridor agreement.
