The US space agency NASA has released the first stunning images of Earth taken by astronauts during the Artemis II mission, which offer a captivating glimpse of this historic journey.

These images were taken by Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman using his personal computing device, a tablet equipped with a camera, in the Orion capsule. The images show a beautiful view of the Earth seen from space that amazes viewers.

According to NASA, in one image, a beautiful glimpse of light can be seen on the edges of the Earth at sunset, while the northern lights (Auroras) are also prominent in various places. Along with this, the light of the zodiacal light is also visible in a special way, which further enhances the charm of the Earth from space.

Another image, taken a few minutes later, highlights the night view of the Earth, where the lights of various cities appear to shine like stars, while the light of the sun can be clearly seen on the edge of the planet.

A photo taken from the window of the Orion spacecraft has been described by NASA as “the blue Earth seen through the eyes of astronauts,” which reflects the deep connection between humans and their planet.

Mission Specialist Christina Koch said in a media interview that seeing the Earth in one view is an indescribable experience. According to her, the view of the shining Earth in the daylight and its moonlight at night is very attractive, and now she is even more excited to see similar views of the moon.

At the same time, Commander Reid Wiseman said that there was a moment when the spacecraft was turned at such an angle that the entire Earth became visible at once, in which Africa and Europe were clearly visible and the northern lights were also reflected. He called it the most amazing moment of his life.

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen also said that after seeing such beautiful views, the crew forgot to eat and everyone’s eyes were fixed outside the window.

According to NASA, the astronauts were constantly busy taking pictures, even delaying their first shared space meal for a while to preserve the rare view.
