ISLAMABAD, 27 OCT (DNA) – Pakistan has reiterated commitment to continue political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.
The commitment was expressed by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir while addressing a news conference in Islamabad. He said the continuing Indian atrocities and human rights abuses have given extraordinary importance to Kashmir issue at international level.
Barjees Tahir said India has martyred 94,000 Kashmiris during the last 66 years. He said during this period 30,000 women were made widows, 100,000 children orphaned and over 100,000 houses destroyed by the Indian security forces. He said there is no justification of deploying 800,000 Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir by India.
The Minister said Pakistan wants to resolve the issue in a peaceful way through dialogue. He said we want to resolve the issue according to the United Nations Security Council Resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiris. He urged India to accept right of self-determination of Kashmiri which was pledged by Indian leaders decades ago.
The Minister said Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be construed as its weakness. He said ceasefire violations on the line of Control and Working Boundary by India are being fully responded by our security forces.DNA
