Karachi: Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India in a humiliating manner in the semi-finals of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship.
Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India 0-3 in a one-sided match to make it to the final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship. Pakistan will face Iran for the title on Saturday, which defeated Japan in the second semi-final.
The Pakistan junior team made it to the final without losing a set. Pakistan won the first set 16-25, won the second set 19-25 and won the third and decisive set 12-25 to seal victory.
Junaid, Faizan, Irfan and Talha played an important role in their team’s victory by playing excellent games. Pakistan has already qualified for the World Under-27 Volleyball Championship 2926 thanks to its excellent performance in the event.
Meanwhile, in the second semi-final, Iran defeated Japan 0-3. Earlier in the event, undefeated Pakistan defeated Iran 1-3 in the match for a quarter-final position to make it to the final four.
Pakistan became the group champion by defeating Korea, Saudi Arabia and Chinese Taipei in Group D and defeated Indonesia to make it to the semi-finals.
The Pakistani team has been undefeated in this event so far and has defeated the opposing teams after a fierce competition in every match.
The Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship is underway in Thailand in which prominent junior teams from across Asia are participating.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated the Pakistani team for qualifying for the final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship.
The Prime Minister expressed his happiness and said that Pakistan remained undefeated throughout this tournament. It is very pleasing to qualify for the final by defeating India in the semi-finals.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the entire nation is proud of its youth, and we pray that Allah Almighty will grant success to the Pakistani team in the final.
