ISLAMABAD: Pakistan condemned Israel’s death of Palestinians in Gaza on Saturday, as new violence erupted for the second day, bringing an end to even more than once year of relative peace along the border.
Israel announced a special offensive it against Palestinian Islamic Jihad group on Friday, killing one of the group’s senior commanders in a surprise afternoon air attack on a high-rise structure in Gaza City.
According to health officials in the Hamas-controlled enclave, Israel’s bombardment killed ten people, along with a five-year-old girl, and injured 79 others. The Israeli army claimed that its raid killed 15 people.
“If impunity and savagery had such a face, it would be Israel, which has attacked Palestinians with no regard for the repercussions. Israel’s bombings are widely condemned in Pakistan.”
The Israeli military says it detained 19 Islamic Jihad militants in nighttime arrest raids in the occupied West Bank.
According to the IDF, Palestinian resistance fighters fired a total of 160 rocket over the border, some of which landed deep within Israel, near the commercial hub of Tel Aviv.
The majority of the missiles was intercepted, while a few persons were lightly hurt while fleeing to safety.
