ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan strongly condemns the recent airstrikes by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, which resulted in the loss of many innocent lives.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan expresses its heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the deceased and reiterates its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in this hour of grief.

The spokesperson said that this heinous attack is yet another grave violation of international human rights and humanitarian law, which highlights the gravity and scope of the crimes of the occupying Power.

He said that the Government of Pakistan calls on the international community to take immediate and effective action to stop Israeli atrocities, ensure the safety of civilians and hold Israel accountable for its actions.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan has always supported the struggle of the Palestinian people and is in favor of a just, sustainable and peaceful solution, which is in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and recognizes the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.

He said that Pakistan supports the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, with borders based on the pre-June 1967 demarcation lines and with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
