DELHI: A leading cricket website has claimed that the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy 2025.
Cricinfo has claimed in its report that the BCCI has told the ICC that the Indian government has advised the team not to be sent to Pakistan.
The report said that the BCCI had informed the ICC earlier this week, but it is not yet clear whether the ICC was informed orally or in writing about the team’s non-existence. Participation has been reported.
It is further said that it is likely that the ICC will seek an intimation in writing so that the PCB is also informed.

The report claims that following this development, the ceremony to be held in Lahore next week to announce the Champions Trophy schedule is also likely to be delayed.
The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be held in Pakistan between February 19 and March 9, but after the Indian cricket board’s decision, both the ICC and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will need to come up with alternative plans for the success of the event.
After BCCI’s refusal, the Champions Trophy can now be held under a hybrid model and if it happens, the matches of the tournament will be played in Pakistan as well as at other venues.
It should be remembered that due to the political coldness between Pakistan and India, bilateral cricket series is not happening and after the Asia Cup held in 2008, the Indian team has never visited Pakistan.

The Pakistan cricket team has been traveling to India to participate in ICC tournaments including the 2023 World Cup and visited India for a bilateral series in 2012-13.
It should be noted that Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has already rejected the option of a hybrid model for holding the Champions Trophy and rejected the impression of any kind of discussion in this regard, however, the report claims that the hybrid model I discussed various projects a few months ago.
According to Cricinfo, various countries have been named for the matches under the hybrid model, but it is more likely to be played in the UAE, with Sri Lanka also on the list.

Mohsin Naqvi said in his statement on Friday that if the BCCI has any complaint, then the PCB should be informed in writing and if this is done, then discuss with the government before the final decision. will go
