Traders’ community asked to hire private guards for security

City Police Officer Rawalpindi Humayun Bashir Tarar said on Wednesday “ It is the responsibility of police to provide protection to citizens and police is making utmost effort to maintain peace in the city but due to limited resources some incidents happens. He suggested business community to hire private guards for business centers
He was talking to a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi at his office.
“Police will train private security guards in dealing with robberies, theft or any crimes to ensure security as well safety of the traders”, CPO Bashir Tarar offered. He said that without the help of public it will be difficult to defeat such elements and it is need of the hour to create awareness about policing in society. He appealed the masses to check all necessary details of tenants before giving them your property on rental basis.
President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi on the occasion expressed concerns over the law & order situation saying Rawalpindi is witnessing sharp rise in heinous crimes for the past few months such as incidents of kidnapping for ransom, murder and robberies and in most of the cases traders were being targeted.
“ The cases of extortion have been resolved which proved the commitment of police force in resolving the crimes”, CPO claimed admitting that RCCI’s concerns over bad law & order situation is justified and despite limited resources police is striving hard to maintain law & order in city but masses should also cooperate with police to eliminate criminal element from the society. He said that Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) will be established to curb all unlawful activities and Chamber will be given representation in CPLC.
