The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the cost of electricity for K-electric consumers by Rs 3.3 paise per unit.

K Electric had asked for an increase of Rs 3.9 paise per unit in the July monthly adjustment. Yesterday, Nepra had announced to reduce the price of electricity by 86 paise per unit. According to the notification, the shortfall relief will be given to the electricity consumers in the October bills, according to Nepra, the consumers who have already been billed will be given this relief in the November bill. Nepra said that the reduction in electricity price will not be applicable to electricity consumers.
