Cities in Sindh are being flooded as a result of mountain flood torrents brought on by torrential rains.Numerous villages in the Dadu tehsils of Mehar, Khairpur, Nathan Shah, and Juhi have been submerged by floodwaters, covering the majority of the district of Dadu. From the impacted locations, people are still being evacuated.
70% of Juhi has been submerged under water. Strengthening is being done to the Ring Dyke, the city’s final line of defence. To save the city from flooding, citizens are assisting with strengthening the bund. Floodwaters have breached the Ring Dyke at Juhi College, cutting off Tehsil Juhi’s connection to the district’s administrative centre by land.
Additionally, the land connection between Juhi and Bhan Saeedabad has been broken.The N55 Indus Highway, which runs from Khairpur Nathan Shah to Mehar, has been swamped by floodwaters, halting vehicular travel from Mehar to other parts of Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab.
Over 300 settlements in the Indus River Catchment basin have been affected by the flooding. The catchment regions of Khairpur were also impacted by the Indus River’s heavy flood.Nathan Shah: Flood floods are moving toward Mehar and Khairpur.
