ISLAMABAD: The mother of Shahnawaz Amir, Sameena Shah, the primary suspect in the murder of Sarah Inam, was detained by the Islamabad Police on Wednesday.Shah was detained by the police after Additional Sessions Judge Sohail Sheikh rejected her request for release.
Police Department Following her appearance before the judge with counsel, the accused was taken into custody by Shehzad Town staff outside of the courtroom. She’ll be transferred to the female police station.
A district and sessions court in Islamabad had renewed Sameena’s temporary pre-arrest release in the Canadian national’s homicide case on October 1.After the court on September 26 accepted Sameena’s pre-arrest bail request against a surety bond of Rs50,000 and ordered her to join the investigation, the bail was increased.
After a disagreement over a family matter on September 23, Shahnawaz is accused of killing his wife Sarah at home.Shahnawaz admitted to the crime and claimed that he “thought” his wife was having an affair with another person when he was detained by the police from a farmhouse in Islamabad’s Chak Shahzad neighbourhood.
Only three months of their marriage were spent together.The FIR stated that on Friday, September 23, the suspect’s mother, Sameena Shah, called the police to report that her son, Shahnawaz, had killed his wife with a dumbbell.
The FIR states that Sameena informed the police that her son was home and had covered his wife’s body. The cops then searched the residence.According to the police complaint, Shahnawaz had locked himself in his room and when the staff broke down the door, they found blood stains on his hands and clothing.
According to the FIR, Shahnawaz Amir confessed to striking his wife repeatedly with a dumbbell during an argument and then concealing the Canadian national’s body in the bathtub once the police had Shahnawaz.
