KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is likely to come up with its opposition leader in Sindh Assembly, contrary to speculations that the party is rejoining PPP-led provincial government.
According to reports, MQM has decided to give the slot to Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, adding that a formal application in this regard would be submitted to Speaker Sindh Assembly.
Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s Shaharyar Mahar is currently opposition in the house.
On Tuesday, Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with Sindh Governor Dr.Ishrat-ul- Ebad and telephoned MQM chief Altaf Hussain to discuss political situation.
The development set off speculations that MQM may rejoin Sindh government after six months.
