Karachi: On Sunday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) projected that Sindh, including Karachi, will experience more rain beginning on Tuesday, August 16, as another “low pressure region” was anticipated to hit the province soon.
As a result of the new weather system, rain and thunderstorms with moderate to heavy falls were predicted to begin on August 16 in the districts of Shaheed Benazirabad,
During the aforementioned time, Karachi also is likely to have moderate to heavy rains.The Met office has issued a warning that between Tuesday and Thursday, heavy rains could cause water logging in low-lying regions of the Karachi, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad khan, Tando Allayar, Dadu, Jamshoro, and Kambar Shahdadkot districts.
The government stated that the “depression over North Arabian Sea has diminished into a low-pressure region and currently rests over Rajasthan” in reference to the meteorological system causing showers in portions of Sindh and Balochistan.
Additionally, it warned that the Hub dam, Thaddo dam, and downstream nullahs in Balochistan’s Khuzdar, Lasbella, and Hub districts may be put under additional stress.
The Met office also issued a warning about the potential for continued rough seas, and Sindhi fishermen have been urged to stay out of the deep sea until Sunday night.
