Liverpool striker Raheem Sterling will tell manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave the club in the summer. The young Liverpool striker has already turned down the £100,000 a week new contract offered by Liverpool, and maintained that he is not a ‘money grabber’.
Sterling will meet manager Rodgers and Liverpool Chief Executive Ian Ayre on Friday to let them know of his decision to leave the club. Manchester City are the frontrunners for Sterling’s signature but Arsenal and a few European clubs also maintain an interest in the striker.
While Liverpool insist they will not sell for any price this summer, their resolve may be tested by an offer in the region of £35 million.
