Doha: An emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers against the Israeli attack on Qatar will be held in Doha today. The meeting will be attended by foreign ministers of Muslim countries and Pakistan will be represented by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The meeting is likely to adopt a joint strategy and approve a resolution in response to the Israeli aggression. According to officials, this resolution will be presented for the OIC summit to be held tomorrow.
The summit will be held on Monday, September 15, in which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also attend along with a high-level delegation. The prime minister has previously paid a one-day visit to Qatar as a show of solidarity.
According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the meeting will consider a draft of a formal resolution on the Israeli attack. Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari said that this conference is a symbol of the wider solidarity of the Arab and Islamic world and its support for Qatar.
