For the first time ever, the Ireland women’s cricket team will go to Pakistan for three ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 games from November 4–9 and three Twenty20 Internationals from November 12–16.
All six contests will be place in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Traveling to Lahore on October 29, the tourists will train there for four days prior to the ODI series.Ireland and Pakistan will play each other twice in the ICC Women’s Championship.
While Ireland lost all three games to South Africa in Dublin in June, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 in Karachi in the same month.Ireland will travel to Pakistan as the fourth international cricket team in 2022, following tours by the men’s teams of Australia, the West Indies, and England.
While the New Zealand men’s team is scheduled to arrive here in the third week of December for the two Tests and three ODIs, with the series opener taking place in Karachi from December 27 to December 31, the England men’s team will return in late November for the December Tests.
The director of women’s cricket, Tania Mallick, said, “At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, we are honoured to host Ireland. We had a great time welcoming Sri Lanka in Karachi earlier this year. Women’s cricket is starting a new era that will last for quite some time.
Pakistan’s skipper, Bismah Maroof, said: “We’re all set for a thrilling series with Ireland. With the help of the series, we’ll been able to increase interest in the women’s game. The series will give young cricketers the chance to develop their abilities in line with those needed for international cricket.The toss will take place at 9:30 am PKT, while the ODIs and T20Is will start at 10:00 am.
