ISLAMABAD: The mercilessly killing of innocent and unarmed Kashmiris by Indian troops in fake encounters in the territory continues in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir,
An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, maintained that extrajudicial killings and fake encounters have become a regular practice of Indian troops in IIOJK.
The troops martyred three Kashmiri businessmen and a dental surgeon in cold blood during a so-called CASO in Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Monday night. Indian police buried the martyrs at a graveyard in Handwara area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir. The families of the victims have been continuing their protest demonstration at the Press Enclave in Srinagar since Tuesday, demanding an impartial probe into the merciless killing of their loves ones and seeking their dead bodies.
The report said that Indian troops killed an innocent youth, Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, in a staged encounter in Gund Jahangir area of Bandipora last month. It said Pathribal fake encounter of 2000 and Machil fake encounter of 2010 are the glaring examples of how Indian troops are mercilessly killing the innocent Kashmiri youth.
The report said that the troops also killed during fake encounters three labourers hailing from Rajouri district of Jammu in Amshipora area of Shopian in July 2020 and three other civilians in Lawaypora area of Srinagar in December, last year.
The report pointed out that India has turned IIOJK into a killing field as 95,907 Kashmiris have fallen to the Indian bullets since January 1989 till date. “Modi-led Indian regime wants to subdue the Kashmiri people by killing youth in fake encounters. Modi must remember it can’t break the Kashmiris’ will by resorting to extra-judicial killings,” it said.
The report said the killing of Kashmiri youth in fake encounters is blatant violation of the UN Charter. It maintained that the world must come forward to stop India’s brutal campaign of repression in IIOJK and hold New Delhi accountable for its brutalities in the occupied territory.
