Ijaz-ul-Haq, the chairman of the Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z), has refuted allegations that his party may combine with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Ijaz, the son of former army head General Ziaul Haq, denied the rumours in response to a letter from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) dated May 5 asking him to provide clarification on his party’s standing and internal polls for the next general elections.
According to him, rumours of a merger between the PML-Z and the PTI are untrue.
He stated that he talked coalition with the PTI during his discussion with Imran Khan, not a merger.
It should be mentioned that after meeting with the PTI in Lahore on March 19, Ijaz formally joined the party, according to the media. Ijaz didn’t immediately deny the information.
