Lahore: An important initiative of the Punjab government to reduce smog and air pollution, a green lockdown was announced in the hotspot areas of Lahore.
The Environment Department has issued a green lockdown notification. According to which there will be a ban on construction works in green lockdown areas, the entry of Chung Chi rickshaws will also be closed while the use of commercial generators will be banned. Open barbeque will be prohibited in these areas after 8 pm.
Green Lockdown has been imposed in hotspot areas of air pollution. Davies Road, Egerton Road, Durand Road and Kashmir Road are included in the hotspot area.
Similarly, Gulshan Cinema and Abbott Road from Shimla Hill were also included in the hotspot area, while Railway Station and Empress Road from Shimla Hill were also declared as hotspot areas. Queen Mary Road and its surroundings have also been included in the pollution zones.
