ISLAMABAD: The ongoing project of Pak-China economic corridor will help Pakistan to enhance the export of country’s defense production especially towards Central Asia, said Senator General (R) Abdul Qayyum, Chairman Senate’s Standing Committee on defense production in a statement issued here Friday.
Praising the national consensus on economic corridor, Senator Abdul Qayyum paid tribute to national leadership and termed the decision major breakthrough in country’s economic growth.
Senator Abdul Qayyum said that Pakistan’s major producers of defense production POF Wah and HMC Taxila would be able to directly approach one of the major routes of economic corridor so a major boost in export of defense production is being expected once the corridor project is active. PML-N government is committed to bring peace and stability in the country and these targets can only be achieved when we are able to maintain smooth economic growth, he added.
While talking about the construction of Neela interchange on Motorway in Chakwal district, he said that the project would not only be completed in given time frame but an industrial zone would also be established to bring economic growth and prosperity in the deprived rural areas. Neela interchange will play a major role in developing the neglected areas of not only Chakwal district but deprived areas of Attock and Rawalpindi districts as well, he emphasised.
